Legion: Sauk Rapids Advances, 76ers Fall

The American Legion Sub-State baseball tournament continued Wednesday at the Municipal Athletic Complex in St. Cloud.

Top-seeded Sauk Rapids defeated the #3-seeded St. Cloud Chutes 12-3 in the winners' bracket and are now the last remaining undefeated team in the tourney. Sauk Rapids has outscored their opponents 45-6 in their three games.

Elsewhere, the St. Cloud 76ers got a game-tying hit in the top of the ninth from catcher Dylan Carlson but saw Nisswa earn the 5-4 win with a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Sartell defeated Monticello 2-1 on a late throwing error to remain alive in the tournament.
