Legion Baseball Season Ends For Chutes And Cold Spring

Two local teams wrapped up their American Legion baseball seasons in the State Tournament held in Edina over the weekend. The St. Cloud Chutes finished with a record of 1-2, while Cold Spring went winless on the weekend.

The Chutes topped the #2-ranked team in the state, Excelsior, on Friday afternoon by a 7-5 final score in Richfield. Later that afternoon, St. Cloud was shut out by the Rochester Patriots 2-0.

St. Cloud was eliminated Saturday with a 12-0 loss against Eastview.

Cold Spring lost their opener Friday 12-5 against Grand Rapids, then fell 5-4 in 11 innings against Alexandria.

Eden Prairie will take on the winner of Monday morning's game between Forest Lake and Burnsville at 1:00 pm for the state title.
