The Minnesota Twins beat the Cleveland Indians 12-3 Monday night at Progressive Field in the first game of a three game series. The Twins are 41-64 overall, but are 30-30 in their last 60 games.

Rookie outfielder Max Kepler paced the offensive outburst with a three home run night and finished with four hits and six runs batted in. Joe Mauer was 4-6 with four runs scored.

Rookie pitcher Jose Berrios had a rough first inning in which he allowed three runs on three hits, but settled down to allow just one hit the rest of the way. Berrios finished with six innings pitched and allowed three runs on four hits with five strikeouts and no walks.

The Twins play at Cleveland again Tuesday night at 6:10 p.m. on AM 1240 WJON.
