NORTHFIELD -- #13/14 St. John's is headed to the NCAA playoffs for the first time since 2009 after winning the MIAC with a 26-6 drubbing of St. Olaf today (Saturday).

St. John's running back Sam Sura rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns in a snow swept field in Northfield.

With his game totals, Sura's 1,605 rushing yards for the season broke the St. John's school record of 1,475 that has stood since 1975.

Quarterback Nick Martin threw two touchdowns - both to junior wideout Josh Bungum to provide the additional scoring for the Johnnies.

With the win, the Johnnies finish the regular season at 9-1 - capturing their 32nd MIAC title and will head to the NCAA Division III playoffs for the 25th time.

Postseason selections and the 32-team playoff bracket are scheduled to be released at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow (Sunday) on NCAA.com.
