ST. PAUL -- St. John's running game along with big plays on defense led the Johnnies to a 24-14 victory over the #10-ranked team in the nation, St. Thomas.

Johnnies running back Sam Sura ran for 210 yards and a touchdown - his second 200-plus yard game already in the season.

Quarterback Nick Martin threw touchdown passes to Josh Bungum and Zach Sundly as the Johnnies built a 21-7 lead midway through the third quarter.

St. John's defensive end Matt Workman finished with three sacks and a forced fumble and safety Garrett Ackerman had a fumble recovery and game-clinching interception.

With the win, the Johnnies improve to 3-1 (1-1 in the MIAC) and host Hamline next Saturday for Homecoming.
