The St. John's football team has had 4 practices and hasn't settled on a starting quarterback yet.  Offensive Coordinator Jim Gagliardi says Junior John Ries of Wayzata because of experience has the lead for the job as of now but the Johnnies are still considering 3 to 4 other options.  Connor Bruns of Baltimore, Maryland and Tyler Greguson of Rochester Lourdes are other top options to start at quarterback.

The Johnnies are deep at running back with the return of Nick Schneider, Stephen Johnson and Jakob Reding.  St. John's was 7-3 in 2010 and finished 3rd in the MIAC behind Bethel and St. Thomas.  St. John's is expected to compete for the MIAC title again this season.

The Johnnies open the season at home against Northwestern College at 1pm September 3.
