Jazz Surge Past Struggling Wolves

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Timberwolves have now lost 11 straight, a league-high (or low) for the season. after Saturday's 101-89 loss to the Utah Jazz.

The Jazz were led by Trey Burke, who scored 28 points against the team who selected him in the 2013 NBA Draft.

That storyline may be slightly misleading, as Burke was never really selected by Minnesota - the Wolves traded the rights of the 9th pick to the Jazz, who had Minnesota select Burke for them.

The trade allowed Minnesota to move down in the draft to select Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng.

It was a rough night for both Muhammad (eight points) and Dieng (10 points), as well as the rest of the Wolves, who have now fallen to 5-27 on the season.

One of the few bright spots of the game - and the season - was rookie Andrew Wiggins, who scored a team-high 20 points and has scored in the double-digits in six straight games.

Veteran guard Mo Williams came off the bench to also score 20 points, but it wasn't enough to keep up with the Jazz.

The Wolves will try to stop their 11-game skid on Monday night against the 14-20 Denver Nuggets.
