The only positivity we have in the Minnesota sports "community" is the Wild, and they fell to the LA Kings 4-2 Thursday night.

It was an important game as both teams were tied with 70 points in the Western Conference. So, coming away with zero points is a buzzkill!

After falling behind 1-0 in the first period the Wild were playing catch up the rest of the game, and although they tied the game twice, they could not find the back of the net to take the lead. The power play was awful as the Wild finished 1-5 on the game. It seemed that they were lost at times on the PP, passing it all over the ice without much success.

Minnesota's best chance to tie the game was in the last two minutes of the third period, when coach Todd Richards interestingly pulled the goalie with 1:30 left. LA scored a short handed goal and that was all she wrote.

It seemed like an odd time to pull the goalie considering we were already a man up, and there was plenty of time left on the power play to tie the game.

The Wild are in Anaheim Friday night -- let's hope they can bounce back and avoid a losing streak.
