The Twins have battled through injuries all season and have at times found ways to survive without some of their top players.  Starting pitching can be the great equalizer.  The Twins starting pitching was great during their 8-game win streak and stretch where they won 15 of 17 games.

Over the last 3 games the starting pitching has been horrible.  Liriano looked bad Saturday, Pavano looked off Sunday and Blackburn didn't give them a chance Monday night.  The offense hasn't been there in each of the games but a team that lacks confidence can't afford to fall behind early.

The Twins still need youngsters like Ben Revere and Luke Hughes to produce but also need something from Joe Mauer and Tsuyoshi Nishioka.  This still could be a lost season for the Twins but we've written them off before only for them to come back so I wouldn't rule a comeback out.
