ST. CLOUD -- SCSU's strong start proved to be enough as Bemidji State's second half comeback fell short in a 30-27 Huskies victory Saturday.

The Huskies scored the game's first 23 points on rushing touchdowns by Jaden HuffDonte Starlin-Merriam, and Nate Meyer.

Leading 23-6 at the half, SCSU extended their lead in the third quarter with a 70-yard touchdown pass from Meyer to wide receiver Taylor Berger.

Berger finished the game with a five catches for 129 yards and a score and went over 1,000 yards receiving for the season.

Trailing 30-8 in the fourth quarter, the Bemidji State Beavers stormed back by scoring 19 unanswered points to get within a field goal of tying the game but time ran out on the rally as the Huskies held on to win 30-27.

With the win, the Huskies improve to 4-5 on the season and will travel to Minot State next Saturday.
