ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud State Men's Hockey Team (15-14-1, 9-10-1) scored late in the third to complete the weekend sweep 3-1 of Miami University (9-13-6, 5-9-4).

The Huskies came out flying. They were peppering the net all night finishing with 36 shots.

Even though the Huskies were winning the shot battle the Redhawk's opened the scoring early in the second period. A few minutes later on the power-play SCSU responded with a goal of their own.

Sophomore Jimmy Schuldt found some space on the blue line and ripped the puck to the back of the net.

For the second night in a row these two teams entered the third period ties at one.

While in the third the Huskies continued dominating the shot battle and the Redhawks responded by throwing their weight around.

Late in the third with the game still tied, freshman Nick Poehling found Jake Wahlin streaking to the pack of the net to make the game 2-1.

A short time later SCSU added an empty netter and the game finished 3-1. This was the Huskies first series sweep since November.

The Huskies are off next weekend and are back in action the following week on road against Denver.
