MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Gophers celebrated senior night with a 2-1 win over Penn State on Saturday night.

Minnesota got the first goal in the contest late in the first period. Travis Boyd scored to make it 1-0 Gophers.

Penn State tied the game back up in the second period. Curtis Loik scored to make it 1-1 going into the third.

Tom Serratore would score the go-ahead goal at 13:15 in the third, making it 2-1 Gophers.

Michael Shibrowski made his second start in front of the net for Minnesota in the contest, making 26 saves and earning the win.

The Gophers will travel to take on Ohio State next week. Game times are set for 6:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
