The Minnesota Golden Gopher men's basketball team topped Southern Methodist 65-63 Thursday night to win the National Invitation Tournament. The Gophers finish the season with a 25-13 record in their first season under head coach Richard Pitino.

Austin Hollins finished a strong tournament with 19 points, including the go-ahead three pointer late in regulation for Minnesota. Andre Hollins scored 14 points but shot just 5-15 from the floor in the win.

SMU guard Nic Moore paced the Mustangs with 17 points on 5-12 shooting.
