Gophers’ Nolen Has Broken Foot

Gopher senior point guard Al Nolen has a broken bone in his foot and will require surgery on Wednesday.  Nolen will have a pin put in his foot and no timetable for his return has been announced.  Tubby Smith would not rule out a possible return for Nolen this season.  Freshmen Maverick Ahamisi and Chip Armerlin are expected to see more time with Nolen out.  Blake Hoffarber could also see time at point guard.  Minnesota hosts Northwestern at 7:30 Wednesday night, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 7:00.
