The Minnesota Golden Gopher basketball team looks to build off of an impressive 11-2 non-conference record when they open the Big Ten season at Williams Arena against Michigan Thursday night.

The Gophers started the season with five straight wins before a pair of Maui Invitational losses to Syracuse and Arkansas in late November. Since the losses, however, the Gophers have won six in a row including a 65-44 win against Texas A&M-CC on December 28th.

The Wolverines are 8-4 on the season and have lost a couple of close games to top-ten teams already this season. Michigan fell to #10 Duke 79-69 on December 3rd and also lost 72-70 to #1 Arizona on December 14th.

Tonight's game tips off at 6 pm in Dinkytown and can be heard on AM 1390 The FAN.
