The Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team topped New Jersey Institute of Technology 74-68 Tuesday night at Williams Arena. The Gophers are now 8-1 overall and 7-0 at home.

Minnesota was led by Akeem Springs, who came off the bench to score 19 points in the victory, while Nate Mason added 18 points.

The Gophers are slated to host Georgia Southern Friday night at The Barn. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
