Gopher Basketball Tops USC

The Gopher men's basketball team defeated USC 55-40 Saturday afternoon at Williams Arena to improve to 8- 1.  Minnesota led 28-16 at halftime and held on in the 2nd half.  Julian Welch led the Gophers with 16 points and Rodney Williams added 12 points and 9 rebounds.  Minnesota shot 48 percent from the field while USC shot just 32 percent.

The Gophers will host Apalachian State Tuesday night at 7pm, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 6:30.
