Gopher Basketball Loses Out on Forte

Gopher men's basketball coach Richard Pitino failed to get 6'6 junior college forward Cameron Forte.  Forte instead this weekend committed to play at the University of Georgia instead.  Forte averaged 22.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in his final season at Howard College in Texas.

Forte was also pursued by Long Beach State, Colorado State, Ole Miss and Pittsburgh.  The Gophers still have 3 scholarships available during the late signing period.  The Gophers have reportedly also shown interest in 6'9 260 pound forward Tarik Black from Memphis and 6'7 224 pound forward Rakeem Buckles from Florida International.
