The Cathedral Crusaders are headed to the state tournament for the seventh time in school history after a 10-2 win over Little Falls Thursday night at the MAC. Over 2,000 fans packed the arena to watch the final.

Cathedral scored four goals in the first period, with Jack Petroske starting the scoring at 8:31 on the power play. Logan Neu made the score 2-0 with a power play goal at 10:15 before Petroske struck again with a tally at 13:13.  Reagan Garden capped the scoring for the first period with a goal at 14:12.

Cathedral outshot the Flyers 17-8 in the opening period.

Michael Spethmann scored at 3:52 of the second period on a power play to make the score 5-0 before Sam Medvec's goal at 8:21 gave Cathedral a 6-0 lead. Spethmann scored again on the power play at 12:57 to put the Crusaders up by a touchdown.

Petroske completed his hat trick with an even strength goal at 14:29 to make the score 8-0. Landon Bjorge's goal for Little Falls at 15:19 made the score 8-1, but the Crusaders answered 1:17 later with a Spethmann goal, which completed his hat trick.

The Crusaders outshot Little Falls 18-6 in the second period, for a two period total of 35-14.

Sam Medvec got his second goal of the night at 13:53 of the third period to give Cathedral a 10-1 lead. The Flyers' Ben Majerle scored with 1:21 left in the third to make the score 10-2.

Shots on goal in the third period favored Cathedral 10-3 for a game total of 45-17.
