The Timberwolves rolled to a 128-96 win over the Orlando Magic in Orlando Sunday night to improve to 21-47 this season. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says the Wolves, unlike many other teams with a similar win/loss record, are trying to win and gain some momentum for the 2021-2022 season.

The Twins are 0-7 in extra inning games this season. Jim says baseball managers can have an impact on close games but not in the same way coaches of football have on their entire staff.

He says rookie Kirill Kaprizov could be a top 10 player in the NHL. Souhan says Kaprizov could score even more goals than he is already as he matures as a player.

The Vikings selected left tackle Christian Darrisaw from Virginia Tech in the 1st round and guard Wyatt Davis from Ohio State in the 3rd round. Star Tribune Sports Columinst Jim Souhan says the Vikings likely found their starting left tackle and left guard in the draft this past weekend.

The Vikings selected left tackle Christian Darrisaw from Virginia Tech with the #23 overall pick in the first round Thursday night after trading back from #14 with the New York Jets. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says the Vikings may have wanted left tackle Rashawn Slater from Northwestern who was selected #13 by Northwestern.

The first round of the NFL draft is tonight starting at 7 p.m. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says we think the Vikings want one of the top left tackles but that may not be the case. Souhan says it is possible that the Vikings could be looking at an edge rusher or cornerback.

The Twins lost 7-4 Tuesday night in Cleveland to drop to 7-15 on the season. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says Alex Colome was told he'd be pitching in less pressure situations. That didn't happen in Tuesday night's game. Colome pitched again in a critical situation and struggled again.

The NFL draft will take place from Thursday-Saturday with the first round starting Thursday night at 7 p.m. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says because of the demand for left tackles and the shortage of quality at that position the Vikings may need to trade up from #14 to get either Penei Sewell from Oregon or Rashawn Slater from Northwestern.
