The St. Cloud Rox were defeated by the Bismarck Larks 9-6 on Saturday night in St. Cloud's home opener at Joe Faber Field. The Rox were up 6-4 going into the top of the 9th, but Bismarck scored 5 runs to take the lead and were able to hold on in the bottom of the inning to win.
Former Twins' 2nd baseman Steve Lombardozzi joined me on WJON Thursday and will be the special guest of the St. Cloud Rox Saturday night. Lombardozzi will throw out the first pitch, sign autographs and take pictures with fans before the Rox home opener Saturday night against Bismarck.
The St. Cloud Rox lost 12-4 at Waterloo against the Bucks Thursday night. Waterloo scored 3 runs in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, 2 in the 5th and 2 in the 6th. They also added 3 more insurance runs in the 8th inning. The two team combined to commit 6 errors.
The St. Cloud Rox earned their first win of the season Wednesday afternoon 5-3 at Rochester. The Rox trailed the Honkers 3-1 going into the 9th inning but St. Cloud scored 4 runs in the 9th to take the lead.

The St. Cloud Rox added 4 players to their 2019 roster. The four are include infielder Jordan Barth (Augustana University) and catchers Brendan Tinsman (Wake Forest University), Brett Bonar (University of Nebraska-Omaha) and Jack Kelly (Northwestern University).
Koenig finished his Tech career with an ERA of 1.80 and 177 strikeouts, and was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 40th round of the 2017 MLB Draft.
