The Vikings lost 30-9 at home to the Miami Dolphins in their final preseason game last night. Taylor Heinicke threw for 93 yards and a touchdown and Cayleb Jones had 9 cathes for 127 yards for Minnesota. Mitch Leidner replaced Heinicke and threw for 129 yards.
Minnesota starting quarterback Sam Bradford played three offensive series and was 5/7 passing for 35 yards. However, the story of the game for the first-team offense was the two sacks allowed by the revamped offensive line and their generally shaky play.
The Vikings have signed cornerback Xavier Rhodes to a 6-year contract extension worth an estimated $78 Million with $41 Million guaranteed. Rhodes was selected to the pro bowl in 2016, his first pro bowl selection.
The Vikings selected 11 players in the NFL draft over the weekend including 9 players Saturday. General Manager Rick Spielman pulled off 7 trades including trading up in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and back in the 4th and 5th rounds.
