The Minnesota Vikings have had a painful team history to say the least. Not quite Detroit Lions bad, but pretty bad nonetheless.

The Vikings lost 34-26 on the road at the San Francisco 49ers Sunday. Viking running back Dalvin Cook left the game early due to a shoulder injury and was replaced by Alexander Mattison. It is unclear how much time, if any, Cook will miss.

The Vikings posted a 34-31 win over the Green Bay Packers Sunday. Greg Joseph made a 29-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Vikings to the victory. The Vikings improve to 5-5 while dropping the Packers to 8-3.

The Gopher men's hockey team, Gopher football team, SCSU women's basketball team, Granite City Lumberjacks, NDSU Bison football team, SJU football team, and Minnesota Timberwolves all checked one in the win column on Saturday, but the Gopher women's basketball team, SCSU men's hockey team, SCSU men's basketball team, St. Cloud Norsemen, St. Cloud adapted soccer team, and Minnesota Wild all came up short. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings return home to U.S. Bank Stadium to host the NFC North-leading Green Bay Packers Sunday.

The Gopher men's hockey and basketball teams, Granite City Lumberjacks, Minnesota Wild, and NDSU football team also came out of their Saturday matchups on top. The SCSU men's hockey team, Golden Gopher football team, St. Cloud Norsemen, and Minnesota Timberwolves were not so lucky. Meanwhile the Gopher men's and women's basketball teams are looking to build on their momentum heading into Sunday's games, and the Minnesota Vikings will travel to Los Angeles to face the Chargers in what might just be a do or die matchup.
