The Brewers beat the Twins 6-2 Monday night at Miller Park. Former Twin Matt Garza shut down the Twins offense over six strong innings to earn the win.

Garza lasted 6.1 innings and allowed no runs on six hits with eight strikeouts, but needed 111 pitches to get there. Four Milwaukee relievers combined to allow two runs on six hits over the game’s final 2.2 innings.

Kyle Gibson was perfect through three innings for Minnesota but ran in to trouble in the fourth inning, allowing a pair of runs before allowing two more in the fifth. Gibson finished with six innings pitched and four runs allowed on six hits with one strikeout.

Joe Mauer led the Twins offense with three hits including a pair of doubles, while Brian Dozier, Josh Willingham and Danny Santana also had multi-hit games in the loss.

The Twins are at Miller Park again Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10, with pregame coverage on AM 1240 WJON beginning at 6:40. Sam Deduno (1-3, 3.86) will start for Minnesota, while Yovani Gallardo (3-3, 3.56) starts for the Brewers.
