Mikko Koivu took an unpenalized high stick to the eye and missed most of the first period before returning. Matt Cullen left the game with a lower body injury suffered late in the second period and did not return.

St. Louis led 1-0 after one period thanks to a Jaden Schwartz goal.

Dany Heatley scored his tenth of the season seven minutes into the second period to tie the game at one, but St. Louis answered back with a pair of goals in a two-minute span to seal the win.
