Blackburn Goes The Distance In Twins’ Win; Mauer Has Timetable
The Twins beat the Seattle Mariners 4-2 Tuesday night to end a 4-game losing streak. Nick Blackburn threw all 9 innings with 7 hits and 2 earned run allowed to get the win and improve to 4-4. Denard Span went 3-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI, Alexi Casilla went 2-3 with 2 run scored and Jason Kubel was 2-4 with 1 RBI. The Twins improve to 16-31 and are now 14 1/2 games back of Cleveland for first place in the American League Central. Minnesota and Seattle play the final game of the 3-game series at Target Field today at 12:10, pregame on WJON at 11:40. Lefthander Brian Duensing (2-4) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander Erik Bedard (2-4) toes the rubber for the Mariners. The Twins also announced there is now a timetable for he return of catcher Joe Mauer. They didn't say what that timetable is but Mauer is DHing in Fort Myers, Florida.
