If you are a basketball fan in Minnesota, it may be easy to become swept away right now with "Timberwolves Fever".

I would suggest trying to hold off on that for a few more weeks, however.

Yes, the T'Wolves are playing great right now.  Yes, Kevin Love deserves to be in the MVP conversation.  And yes, Rick Adelman should absolutely be mentioned as a candidate for Coach of the Year.

But we still have two full months of basketball to go, and the reality is that outside of  Coach Adelman and J.J. Barea - the Timberwolves have basically NO playoff experience.  The team is still very young, and still learning how to win these close games that we have grown accustomed to losing in recent years.

Tonight's game is huge.  A barometer of exactly where we stand in the Western Conference, for sure.  Are we going to come up with a big, signature win - that catapults us into these remaining games with poise and confidence?  Or, are Kobe and the Lakers just going to blow us out again, like always?

The T'Wolves must win tonight, and tomorrow, when they have a home game against New Orleans.  After Saturday night, the T'Wolves will embark on a 7 game road trip, that will be the most important one they have been on in quite some time.

That trip includes very winnable games at; Phoenix, Utah, Golden State, and Sacramento.  But the road trip also takes the T'Wolves to L.A. to play the Lakers again, then finishes with games at San Antonio and Oklahoma City.

The T'Wolves are a fun team to watch, and an easy team to cheer for.  In the next few weeks, we will see just how good they really are.

Hopefully, the winning streak will continue tonight against the Lakers.
