Canterbury Park is going to be the place to be this summer, and I'm not just saying that because I am a regular in the poker room.  I love horse racing.

Nowhere else in the world, do; skill, luck, athleticism, nature, man, and animal - all come together.

And let's face it, this time of the year, what is going on?  The NBA and NHL playoffs are each about to start, and predictably, once again our Minnesota teams are not in the fray.  The Twins are healthy and have some interesting new faces - but the pitching staff is horrible, period.  They are a .500 squad at very best, and will certainly finish at least 15-20 games behind the Tigers.

That brings me to Canterbury Park, in Shakopee!  Live racing begins in about a month, but I will be making my first visit in a while on May 5 - that Saturday is Kentucky Derby Day.

Canterbury Park is open for satellite wagering all year round, and of course the Card Club is open 24/7 - 365 days a year!

Hey, racing season goes until the middle of September.  That will help us get through the Vikings losing their first few games, right?

If you've never experienced the thrill of "live" horse racing - it is a must.  And we have one of the most unique, and naturally beautiful,  race tracks in the country, just an hour south of us!

The whole family will love the trip.  And good luck with the Pick 6!
