The Timberwolves topped the Pistons 107-101 Saturday night at Target Center, giving head coach Rick Adelman his 1,000th career victory. Adelman is just the eighth coach in NBA history to reach the milestone.

Minnesota controlled the game from the opening tip, although the contest remained close for most of the matchup. The Timberwolves led 61-55 at the half and 81-78 through three quarters.

Nikola Pekovic and JJ Barea each scored 20 points for the Wolves (29-47), with five other players scoring in double digits as well. Brandon Knight scored 25 for Detroit (25-52) in the loss.
