Let's face it, it's NEVER too early to start thinking about fantasy football.  Draft day is always one of my favorite days of the entire year, and we all love our team right after our draft, right?

Last year was not a particularly good one for me, in any of my three leagues.  All three of my squads failed to make the post season, and I am embarrassed at how much money last season cost me.

But just as each pre-season we envision our favorite team making the playoffs, or even winning the Super Bowl - we also dream of dominating our league, and bringing home a championship.  There are serious bragging rights at stake for many of us.

So without further ado, let the trash talking begin.  Here are five important fantasy football questions, that I am going to answer in ways that probably differ from the opinions of most.

But that's what is great about fantasy football - everyone has an opinion.  And everyone is right with their opinion..........in June.  Listen up.

1) Peyton Manning - The future Hall of Famer is having a little more trouble getting into playing shape, than he, or the Broncos expected.  He hasn't played in two years - and certainly won't play much in the pre-season.  It will take him a while to get acclimated to the new surroundings in Denver, and don't forget he is coming off of a very serious neck injury.  Manning is one of the best quarterbacks ever, so I'm sure we'll see a few moments of 'Peyton' greatness, this season.  Still, all of his poise, and experience, won't make up for the fact that the Broncos receivers are terrible, certainly the worst he's ever had to play with.  Add in the fact that John Fox is a run-first, defensive minded, coach - and you begin to realize that it is not likely that Manning will put up the numbers that we are used to seeing.  The two year layoff scares me to death.  In mock drafts he is the 11th or 12th quarterback being taken.  That says a lot.  I would advise you to strongly stay away from Peyton Manning this year.

2) Adrian Peterson - There are many of us, especially in Minnesota, that are really rooting for A.P.  He is a great guy, a great teammate, he always gives you his best, and is a beast, physically.  Or should I say, "was" a beast physically.  There is really no telling how Peterson's body will hold up when he returns, which the Vikings are still hoping is week one.  History does not bode well for Minnesota.  No player has EVER returned into his previous form, after the kind of knee injury he sufferred.  Add in the fact that when he does play - his quarterback, wide receivers, and defense, are all horrible.  Healthy or not, A.P. is basically the Vikings ONLY offensive weapon - making it easy to key on him for opposing defenses.  Even if you love the Purple, stay away from Adrian Peterson on draft day.

3) New Orleans Saints - Ever since the Drew Brees era began in New Orleans, the Saints offense has been one of the league's best.  But there have been a ton of distractions this off season, with the whole "Bountygate" situation.  Most of last year's offense is still in tact, but their; head coach, defensive coordinator, and best defensive player are suspended for the season.  Drew Brees is in camp now, but still not happy.  The division has gotten a lot better this off season, and all of those teams will be looking to exact some payback, after being dominated by Brees these past few years.  Sometimes you just have to go with your gut - and my gut is telling me that there is a bit of a black cloud hanging over the Saints in 2012.  I expect more losses from the Saints this year than we are used to seeing, and I expect all offensive numbers to be considerably less than they were a year ago.  You have been warned.........and cheaters never prosper!

4) Tim Tebow - I don't know why more people aren't realizing this, but Tim Tebow will be the Jets starting quarterback before too long.  Mark Sanchez has only proven to be wildly inconsistent in his time as the starter, and honestly, Tebow couldn't be much worse.  New York City sports fans are all about winning, period.  Tim Tebow is a proven winner, and a proven leader.  His passing skills will only improve with time, and practice, and he is very intelligent.  That's the biggest difference between he and Sanchez, smarts.  Sanchez still routinely makes silly, and costly, mistakes with the football.  The Jets already have a killer defense, and they will be no fun to play once Tebow gets ahold of the offense - which I expect to be very early in the season.  Even with Sanchez as the starter, Tebow will see lots of snaps in the red zone.   Tebow will go on to make the Broncos rue the day that they traded him - and I love him as a sleeper pick this year.

5) Cam Newton - There are many "experts" that are saying that Cam Newton will not come anywhere close to putting up the numbers he did last year, in 2012.  They will point to Michael Vick's sophomore season, which was a disaster, after an impressive rookie year.  The difference between those two, though, is that while Vick did not have his head on straight at that point in his career - Cam Cam is all business!  In his last two seasons, he has won a; Heisman Trophy, national championship, and the NFL's Rookie of the Year award.  He is already a leader, and a freakishly unbelievable athlete.  His passing skills will improve as he gets older, and so will his football IQ.  Cam Newton has stated this off season, that he expects to win the division this year, and I'm not betting against it.  On my draft board, at the QB position, only Aaron Rodgers is ranked higher.

That's my take - and good luck.......unless you're in one of my leagues!
